A new tank-tastic RTS game called War on Terror poises for release. From the description:
At the dawn of a new century, peace is now only a distant dream. Many terrorist groups have joined their forces to launch terrible attacks on the world's great urban areas. Their ultimate goal remains unknown, but their attacks are of unprecedented violence. Your mission: reveal the conspiracy and bring peace back to the world.
"War on Terror" is a resolutely modern, real-time strategy game centered on tactics. With splendid 3D graphics, it presents a realistic scenario of fighting terrorism in the near future. You follow the course of history from three perspectives: The Free World Forces, the Chinese, and the Order. Each time you accomplish a mission objective or wipe out enough enemy troops, you earn the chance to obtain new units. Your goal is to free the world of the scourge of terrorism. You can play a total of three campaigns, with over 60 units and 70 different abilities. In 2006, terrorism rages. But the world is still unaware of the sinister conspiracy that lurks. Discover the truth in "War on Terror" and command your troops in this great 21st century war game.
Who knows how good the gameplay is, but doesn't this scenario seem a bit...dated? My personal experience of the War on Terror isn't half as exciting—and I live in New York City, even.
Actually, other games have done a better job of conveying how the real War on Terror is experienced by the majority of us.
